This week I saw...... #28 And a glimpse of KCW

This week so far I saw my least productive Kids Clothes Week ever......
But hey, it's the quality that counts, not the quantity, right ?

So, I did manage to finish one garment. One I actually have on a secret wishlist for myslef. Soooo soft, soooo relaxed and comfy, hmmmmmmm

I used a piece of nicky velours I still had lying around and the same tutorial that inspired this summer sarouel, and made my youngest one a super soft fall sarouel.

And she was more than happy to pose for a little photoshoot in the late afternoon sun ;-)

Not so lucky....

Oh boy, I honestly wanted to fit in some sewing time this week (and I had great plans what to make!) but luck is not on my side.

After an emergency visit to the dentist last monday night (which was supposed to be spent as quality time between me and my sewing machine!!!), I found myself in the hospital today for a minor surgery on my jaw. Which, I must say was done pretty quick but which left me too knocked out to get off the couch for the rest of the day, let alone sew......

Well, the good news is that these hours of not feeling up to anything but reading and dozing off, combined with the many hours spent on trains lately, are leading to some nice new additions to my list of books.

I updated my book page with some really nice novels. So if you are still looking for something to read on these dark fall evenings (or while traveling to work on the train, or while recovering from a visit to the surgeon), I recommend you pop over here and pick a book!

Every Day

Today, I started reading a new book: Every Day  by David Levithan. It's the story of someone who wakes up in a different body every day, and manages to live this life by sticking to certain rules. It works, until he wakes up in the body of 16 year old Justin and falls in love with Justins girlfriend..........

Let's see if reading is all I'll feel up to this week or whether I can still find a moment to put down my book and spend some time with my terribly neglected sewing machine...

(And if you're looking for more reading inspiration...I also try to keep my Pinterest board up to date!)

KCW fall 2013

Tomorrow is the start of this fall's Kids Clothes Week. I was in doubt whether or not to participate this time. Life's busy enough as it is. My sewing machine is covered in a fine layer of dust, my blog is being heavily neglected and I hardly even crochet anymore.

Try combining single parenthood, caring for three great girls, wrapping up your own business and starting a new job and, hey..... you might not find my lack of time very surprising ;-)

But if ever there's a good moment to whipe the dust of my sewing machine and find some creative and productiev me-time, it is during KCW. I love the creative vibe going around the internet during this week. It's inspiring and such fun to be part of a worldwide creative process.

So, I am going to give it a try anyway. I may not be able to find time to sew every day, let alone time to blog.....but I will try, just don't  want to miss this!

This week I saw....................#27

After a few hectic weeks of adapting to a new work- and family rythm, this week I enjoyed the quiet and creative moments with my girls.

Na een paar drukke weken waarin we allemaal moesten wennen aan een nieuw ritme, qua werk en gezin, genoot ik deze week van rustige, en creatieve momenten met de kinderen.
